Monthly Happenings
Fabulous Fridays at Stitch

I
am really excited about a series of clubs and classes that we are starting on Fridays at Stitch.
Beginning in February we will have the 1800's Ladies Club on the 1st Friday afternoon of each month from 1-3pm. During our club meetings we will talk about some of the fabulous quilting traditions that began in the 19th century - useful quilts for packing household goods for trips West in covered wagons, friendship quilts to ease separation of friends and families, Underground Railroad quilts, Fundraising quilts, Soldier's quilts and Victorian Crazy Quilts. We'll try out some new (old) blocks and share some talk and tea. This is an ongoing club and will cost $10 per month. You are welcome to join at any time.
On the 2nd Friday of each month the Handworker's Club will meet from 1-3pm. this will be an old-fashioned sewing circle where we can sit around the table together, sip a cup of tea, and share tips, techniques and stories. At the beginning of each meeting we'll practice some stitches and then work on our own projects. During the first three sessions we will concentrate on 12 basic stitches which are used in redwork, crazy quilting and freeform embroidery. If there is enough interest the class will continue and we will move on to some more complex stitches , ribbon embroidery, whatever tickles our fancy. Club "dues" are $10 per month, and you can join us anytime your schedule permits.
We'll also be having a scrap club on the 3rd Friday and Quilt 'til You Wilt sessions on most 4th Fridays. Won't we have fun? Call (603)837-8778 for more information.

Call and reserve a spotThird Thursdays 6-8pm, $15, bring practice fabric, machines, necessary feet and manuals
North American Mystery Tour – Join Beth for a mystery quilt experience where we can visit exciting destinations without leaving the comfort of our classroom. You’ll create a quilt at each stop along the way. All you need to do is pack your bag – your sewing bag that is (sewing machine and normal cutting and sewing tools, neutral piecing thread) and the Stitch Tour Company will do the rest. The total package includes your personal tour guide (Beth), instructions, fabric kit, lodging (our classroom), and food (well you have to bring some, too). "Tickets" are $50 and include fabric and a pattern. Classes are from 11am-4pm on the Sunday following the third Saturday of each month. We usually do our cutting and then break for lunch. You must make reservations ahead because there are only 8 spaces. When you make your reservation you will choose your colorway.
Stitch 'n' Strip Club
On the first Wednesday evening of each month, Annie Devin, Head Stripper, introduces lots of methods for using 2.5" strips to make quick quilts. Meet each month and try a new pattern using precut strips from your own stash or a jellyroll, bali pop, timeless treat, can of worms, or whatever the newest name they've come up with for these handy strips. With your strips all cut and ready to go, you will make a great start on getting a quilt top done each month.
